Starting with the celebrations of Burns’ 250th Anniversary last January, more than 100 Homecoming Scotland events will take place across Scotland during 2009 to celebrate some of the greatest contributions Scotland has made to the world:

Golf, Whisky, Great Minds and Innovation, Burns himself, and the country’s rich culture and heritage. Here is a list of true Highlights:

 

May 1—31 is Whisky Month

Distilleries open their doors to visitors and locals alike. From a tasting session at The Scotch Whisky Experience in Edinburgh, to a 3 day whisky course in Fife, there are a range of ways to sample Scotland’s national tipple.

 

 

July 25—26  The Gathering 2009

Scotland’s largest ever Highland Games in the inspiring Holyrood Park in Edinburgh. Join clan member from all around the world to witness this stunning event.

 

 

November 28 - 30 Homecoming Scotland’s Finale Weekend

Homecoming Scotland is going to present a truly unique, major celebration of Scottish music, the likes and scale of which has never been seen before. This event will encompass the fullest possible range of Scotland’s popular musicians from traditional Scottish folk heroes to the most cutting edge of contemporary Scottish bands.
